Belted Kingfisher Looks On
$107.00 – $432.00Canvas 1.5-inch Gallery WrapFine Art Paper Print OnlyClear12x3016x40This illustration is the 2nd in a series of street banner art I completed for a street banner competition in the city of Delta, BC. Belted Kingfisher Looks On features one of our favourite winged river dwellers, the Belted Kingfisher, perched on a piling near a patch of Black Eyed Susans, watching its beloved river territory just across from the wharfs of Harbourside in Ladner, British Columbia. A colour palette of turquoise, yellow and fishing boat off-whites create the warmth of a sunny summer day, enjoyed along the banks of the South Arm of the Fraser River.

Blue Dodge Van
$47.00 – $247.00Canvas 1.5-inch Gallery WrapFine Art Paper Print OnlyClear12x1218x18For many years, our friend Rick used to park his Blue Dodge Van outside the Seven Seas Fish Co. Ltd. along the river in Ladner, British Columbia when it wasn’t in use. This van was reserved for mountain ski trips and trips to Vancouver Island to visit Rick’s children. It was a beauty of a van! The Seven Seas Fish Co. Ltd. was demolished about 2 years ago to make way for some harbour beautification projects (that, to be honest, we’re still waiting for), and I haven’t seen Rick or his van since about then either. Metallic blues, sky blue, and the metal grey of the old fish processing building make up this colour palette.

Blue Moon Motel
$95.00 – $455.00Canvas 1.5-inch Gallery WrapFine Art Paper Print OnlyClear16x2024x30This is my second of four illustrations in the Roadside Motel series, I worked on in 2021/2022. As a fan of road trips, and during the Covid pandemic when we couldn’t travel, I set myself the task of creating a series of imagined quirky motels that were each based on a chosen colour. This is the Blue Moon Motel, complete with funky signage, check-in office and resident tabby cat. It’s a friendly little place that offers free air-conditioning and a continental breakfast. And, the moon is always full and blue there.

Brackman-Kerr Cherry Blossoms
$47.00 – $247.00Canvas 1.5-inch Gallery WrapFine Art Paper Print OnlyClear12x1218x18This image is of the corner of Chisholm St. and Georgia Street, kitty-corner from the site of the recently demolished the Seven Seas Fish Co. Ltd. in Ladner, on the Westcoast of British Columbia. This building is one of the 3 original Brackman-Ker Granaries, c. 1904. While historical, and also with bats in its attic, it probably doesn’t have too much time left in this world as its been structurally sagging for years now. Illustrating both peeling paint and flower blossoms are painstaking, but I just can’t help myself, as I am so drawn to both elements. I’m especially attracted to the meaning of their juxtaposition too; the cycle of life, old and new, abandonment and renewal.

Crows of Elliott Street
$115.00 – $497.00Canvas 1.5-inch Gallery WrapFine Art Paper Print OnlyClear16x2424x36I am very fond of crows. This illustration, Crows of Elliott St., depict a couple of the members of my favourite winged creatures near where I live in the village of Ladner. My husband and I having been feeding this same crow family for many years. If they spot us leaving our home and walking our dog, Wink, they often swoop down and walk along side us and chat away. They patiently (sometimes not so patient!) wait for us to drop peanuts for them. Hues of turquoise, sky blues, springy greens and yellows frame the shiny black bodies of the crows in this vibrant colour palette.

Delta Museum & Archives
$115.00 – $497.00Canvas 1.5-inch Gallery WrapFine Art Paper Print OnlyClear16x2424x36This image was first illustrated as part of my 2022 postcard series. It depicts the Delta Museum and Archives historic building located on Delta Street, in the heart of Ladner Village, Delta, British Columbia. While it no longer serves the community as the museum and archives, (it now serves as the Delta Community Police station), it is still an ever present relic of the past, with its accompanying stone towered town clock (that never tells the right time). Lush spring greens and a spark of red flowers frame the brown and light vanilla of this Tudor styled building.
