My story

About Me

I walk daily around my little town of Ladner on the Westcoast of British Columbia, searching out meaningful and deeply interesting images to illustrate. I adore the abandoned, dirty, broken, pigments of the past that co-exist with us here in the present, and; if properly preserved through art, will serve as a memory for us in the future. I also love the nature of this place; it’s birds and creatures, the river that runs through it, and the plants and trees that constantly change with the seasons. I was a graphic designer and copy writer for over 25 years, but in 2021, when the world was topsy-turvy, I decided it was time to listen to my heart and made the leap to being an artist full time. I have never been happier, and have so many art projects on the go and in my imagination at any given time.

About My Art

Like any artist, I create my all of my art with deep consideration to story, perspective, composition, light, and colour. I bring to my art a lifelong set of developed artistic and technical skills, a deep seated sense of curiosity, and an inherent creative intuition. My canvas is my iPad and my medium is my Stylus Pen. I chose this way to create art because of its many benefits. It’s less messy than traditional art (which is great for me). It’s cost-effective, both in the production and in the cost to my buyers. It’s portable; I can take my art with me everywhere I go easily. It’s stylistically versatile, and it offers limitless possibilities. But like any good art, it takes time and patience to create pieces that are engaging, emotional, aesthetically pleasing and desirable; and this is always what I aspire to achieve.
