As a fan of road trips, and during the Covid pandemic when we couldn’t travel, I set myself the task of creating a series of imagined quirky motels that were each based on a chosen colour. This is the Blue Moon Motel, complete with funky signage, check-in office and resident tabby cat. It’s a friendly little place that offers free air-conditioning and a continental breakfast. And, the moon is always full and blue there.

It’s an inviting, happy place that has a pool to take a dip in, limitless cups of coffee, and free cable.

At the Lucky Shamrock there’s always a rainbow peeking out from behind the fields, and, if you’re lucky, you may find a pot of gold.
